Montreal's Luxuria Review: Sexy Club Vibes, But Where’s the Play?

New Swinger Podcast | Apple | Spotify

Luxuria is Montreal’s stylish, younger-leaning lifestyle club with theme nights, dance floor heat, and curtain-drawn playrooms.

By: Kat Swings

Luxuria is one of Montreal’s newer swingers clubs, offering a younger crowd, nightclub energy, and a more exhibitionist, less participatory vibe. With themed parties, loud music, stylish interiors, and a couples-only policy on Saturdays, Luxuria draws a crowd that’s more into dancing and looking hot than diving headfirst into play. Dirty vanilla at its finest. For couples who love dressing up, dancing, and maybe being watched later (if anyone’s watching at all), Luxuria is worth a look. Just don’t expect an orgy pit.

We dish on all this and more plus give lots of questionable newbie advice on the Vanilla Swingers podcast

👀 First Impressions – Luxuria makes a strong first impression. The entrance is sleek, the staff friendly, and the club has a polished, modern vibe. Everything feels like a step up from the seedier side of the scene. You’ll check in at the door, where events are cash-based (bring bills just in case), and receive a quick walk-through depending on your experience level.

The crowd tends to skew younger – 30s and even 20s are common – with most people arriving late. Dress code is sexy nightclub attire, and many women wear less and less as the night goes on. The mood is high-energy and flirty downstairs, but noticeably more reserved upstairs. The younger you go, the more dirty vanilla you tend to get. Party over play.

L'Orage Review

🎟️ Inside Tour – The club is split over two levels:

  • The main floor includes the bar, dance floor, lounge seating, and DJ booth. There’s no play happening here, but the sexual energy is high and people come dressed to impress.

  • The second floor is the play zone. It features a mix of semi-private booths, public viewing areas, and curtained cubbies that function as pseudo-private rooms. There are no doors (just curtains) so true privacy doesn’t exist. Guests can peek behind or linger nearby, and some do… a little too much. It’s ideal for light exhibitionism, but not great if you’re hoping to fully relax and let go.

🎵 DJ/Dance – Luxuria is a nightclub first, swingers venue second, and it shows in the bar and music setup. The bar staff are efficient, friendly, and serve standard cocktails, beer, and wine. No complaints there. No BYOB as is standard in US-based clubs.

The music is loud, even during dinner hours, which makes conversations difficult unless you’re shouting in someone’s ear. The DJ keeps the energy high and the dance floor busy, especially on theme nights, which tend to draw a well-dressed crowd that came to party. The overall vibe downstairs is sexy, high-energy, and often more fun than what’s happening upstairs.

Club L Montreal Review

🍒 Playrooms – Luxuria’s upstairs play area is a mix of public and semi-private spaces, but overall it’s more about being seen than getting wild. Most of the booths have curtains instead of doors, allowing some visual privacy but very little physical separation. This design encourages voyeurism.

Reports of guests peeking behind closed curtains or hovering too long aren’t uncommon. If you’re sensitive to being watched or interrupted, you may not find the setup ideal. Exhibitionists might enjoy it if there’s an actual audience, but it often feels more like people are watching and waiting than playing.

While the club does emphasize consent, enforcement of etiquette seems a bit looser upstairs. There’s often more “looking” than “doing,” and some guests feel put off by the quiet, slightly predatory vibe, especially on Friday nights when more single men are allowed.

🔥 Vibe check – Luxuria brings a different energy than most swingers clubs. It’s flashy, flirt-heavy, and more about the fantasy than the follow-through. If you’re into dancing, themed outfits, and slow-burn sexual tension, you’ll probably enjoy the vibe. But if you’re hoping for spontaneous group play or wild public scenes, you may leave disappointed.

The younger crowd often leans voyeuristic or exhibition-curious, not full-swap ready. Upstairs action tends to be low-key or non-existent, with many couples sticking to private booths or just watching from the sidelines. It’s not uncommon for the upstairs to be empty or quiet even while the downstairs is buzzing.

✅ Should you go? – Luxuria is a great pick if you love the club-night aesthetic and want to dip a toe into the lifestyle scene without pressure. It’s ideal for younger couples, first-timers, and those who enjoy dressing up, dancing, and seeing what the night brings. You just might need to manage expectations, especially if you’re used to the anything-goes chaos of other clubs like L’Orage or Club L
