Want a movie night with a side of sexual curiosity? Here are our favorite swinger movies and shows, plus where you can find them.
Trying to get your partner on board? Or maybe the two of you are tiptoeing into the idea of the lifestyle and want a little Hollywood foreplay first? Well, what better way to warm up than binge-watching movies and shows that actually depict swinging, threesomes, and open relationships?
We did exactly that. We’ve watched more swinger movies and ENM shows than we care to admit. Some? 🔥 Surprisingly sexy and accurate. Others? 🗑️ Absolute dumpster fires that make swingers look like homicidal maniacs at worse, homewreckers at best. Here are our top picks that get it right, and the ones that really don’t – plus where you can find them.
We dish on all this and more plus give lots of questionable newbie advice on the Vanilla Swingers podcast.
1. Playboy Swing (TV show)

This is the OG. Before Love Island went sex-positive and before swingTok was a thing, Swing invited wide-eyed newbie couples into a swanky Vegas mansion to meet veteran swingers and sex-perts. The setup? Let’s see if they actually swing or just cry in the hot tub.
It’s part reality show, part softcore porn in the sexy Red Room, and surprisingly one of the realest things we’ve seen on screen. You’ll see full swaps, girl-girl puppy piles, awkward boundaries convos, unexpected feelings, and a lot of very tanned skin. Hot enough to turn you on. Real enough to learn the ropes.
Years aired: 2011–2015
Seasons: 5
🎥 Where to watch: Playboy TV (via Prime Video add-on).

2. Swingtown (TV show)

Can you believe this aired on CBS?! In prime time?! We just discovered this sexually charged gem, and are gob-smacked this debuted right under everyone’s noses on network TV!
Set in the key-party glory of the 1970s, this one follows a sexy swashbuckling swinger couple living their best bell-bottomed life in the suburbs.
The show kicks off with a pilot/flight attendant MFF threesome so you know we were hooked… The story then kicks off when a wide-eyed new couple moves in next door, and the seduction begins. It’s all about NRE (new relationship energy), morality spirals, and what it was like to lure people in the wild before dating apps or lifestyle clubs. It’s flirting over fondue instead of Feeld bios.
Meanwhile, the uptight old neighbors bring the pearl-clutching, moral-high-ground drama we all love to hate. And apparently everyone was hot in the ‘70s, LOL.
Years aired: 2008, CBS
Seasons: 1
🎥 Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video (buy) or Apple TV

3. Open House: The Great Sex Experiment (TV show)

This one is Playboy Swing TV meets Love Island – but with better accents, younger eye candy (Kat’s in heaven!), and a whole lot more honesty.
Couples head to a dreamy UK countryside estate to explore their wild side with help from sex-positive experts. Some try swapping. Some try threesomes. Some cry in the hallway and realize they’re just not built for it. It’s messy, hot, and refreshingly real.
And while most of the couples feel more “dating app fling” than “married duo,” it still captures that tentative, thrilling energy of trying something taboo, on camera.
Years aired: 2022–present
Seasons: 2 (still going!)
🎥 Where to watch: Channel 4 (UK), YouTube.

4. Horny Beasts – Erica Lust (Porn short)

Not a movie. Not a show. This is pure, unfiltered, cinematic porn – and Kat is OBSESSED.
Erica Lust creates porn for people who like plot, aesthetics, and real chemistry. Very female-centric. Horny Beasts is one of her best vignettes – a sensual, art-house-style MFM threesome filmed from the female gaze. It’s slow burn, it’s hot, it’s satisfying in all the ways mainstream porn just… isn’t.
This is female-centric porn, and it is HOT. Fully Kat-approved. If you’ve ever dreamed of being the center of an MFM, this one will get your panties wet and your partner’s attention.
Years aired: 2020
Seasons: part of a Lust Cinema series
🎥 Where to watch: EricaLust.com, Lust Cinema, or pay-per-view on adult streaming platforms

5. Threeway (Indie Film)

This indie gem had us yelling “YESSS” at the screen. It’s a funny, painfully accurate story of a young couple who decides to spice things up by adding a third. They decide to add both a female and a male, their ENM minded friends, saying isn’t that a foursome?! And they say, not at the same time! Hmm, sound familiar?
You get awkward meet n greets, mismatched expectations, bad date setups, “let’s try it for you, then me” double helix logic – and the emotional aftermath that actually happens when you open your relationship. It’s sexy, sweet, chaotic, and SO real.
One of the few films that gets threesomes right, from the first fantasy to the “oh $hit, feelings” fallout.
Years aired: 2022
🎥 Where to watch: Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Google Play, or YouTube Movies

6. Happy Ending (Dutch, subtitled)

This one is intimate, emotionally charged, and deeply relatable – especially for anyone who’s ever invited a hot bi girl into their bed and accidentally caught feels.
A young Dutch couple meets a sexy unicorn while out dancing (as one does), and the three fall into a playful, flirty MFF threesome that feels authentic, not staged. But when connection deepens, things get complicated… fast.
This one nails the fun-to-jealousy pipeline that can sneak up on even the most well-meaning couples.
Years aired: 2023
🎥 Where to watch: Netflix, Apple TV, or rent via Google Play (Trailer)

7. American Swing (Documentary)

If you want to see what swinging looked like before Feeld, before FetLife, before DMs and consent talks – this is it. American Swing is a wild, disco-lit time capsule of Plato’s Retreat, the OG New York sex club that redefined “free love” in the ‘70s.
The first half is pure gold: full bush, full nudity, full freedom. It’s all shag carpets, open orgies, and sweaty dance floors. There’s a whole lotta synergies with modern swinging.
Then things take a turn. And it becomes a bit somber fall from grace amidst the AIDS epidemic hit hard.
Year released: 2008
Where to watch: Tubi (Free), Apple TV, Tubi, or YouTube Movies
8. The Ice Storm (Movie)

A genuinely excellent, arthouse, melancholic film — just not remotely a swinger movie, even though the key-party subplot is what everyone remembers.
The key party itself? Iconic, uncomfortable, very “1970s suburbia meets silent existential dread.” It shows how Hollywood thinks swinging looked back then – fishbowl keys, awkward small talk, unspoken disappointment.
Year released: 1997
🎥 Where to watch: Amazon Prime, Apple TV

🗑️ The Dumpster Fires: Watch For Unhinged Chaos
These are the movies that make swingers look like stalkers, psychos, homewreckers, or people who would 100% be banned from every lifestyle club we’ve ever been to. Fun to watch? Yes. Good for understanding the lifestyle? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
9. The Overnight

This one starts out so promising – like, painfully relatable flirting between two cute young couples who befriend each other. We were nodding along like, “Okayyy, realism!”
Too much wine, weed, and art-gallery WTF… and it slowly descends into awkward flirtation, naked hot tubs, and way too much pressure.
From there, everything freefalls into absurdity until it finally crashes into an emotionally scarring ending where a child walks in on a full foursome mid-nightmare. It’s realistic → unhinged → “we need therapy after this.”
Year released: 2010
🎥 Where to watch: Netflix, Vudu, Apple TV

10. Palm Swings

Set in Palm Springs (obviously), this film follows a modern couple as they dip their toes into swinging… and then faceplant into chaos.
They get invited to what looks like a SoCal key party (not inaccurate), but then communication vanishes, boundaries evaporate, and a furry creature appears as the story fully jumps the shark. Think – “Hallmark movie meets swinger satire meets fever dream.”
It tries to be modern and sex-positive, but nope. This one is pure lifestyle fear-mongering. Fun to hate-watch, though.
Year released: 2017
🎥 Where to watch: Tubi (free), Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV

11. Zebra Lounge
A pre-internet depiction of swinging where couples literally mail Polaroids to a secret PO Box and hope someone hot writes back. (Honestly, iconic behavior.)
In this case, what writes back is – Stephen Baldwin and his deranged swinger partner. They lure a newbie couple into a seduction spiral that quickly turns into obsession, stalking, manipulation, and possibly a fiery car chase to the death.
The first 20 minutes are surprisingly realistic. Everything after that is:
“What if swingers… are really psychotic PSYCHOPATHS?”
Year released: 2001
🎥 Where to watch: Tubi (free), Amazon Prime (rent), Apple TV, Google Play
